Resolved Question: What to do now for a case that is still open but doesn't seem to be going anywhere?

So back in June a girl was shot by a gun through a ceiling in quincy, ma. Its a real story (look it up if you want details) Since then, its been about 5 months and her shitty ass lawyer said that there was nothing that can be done for her. So that was 5 months wasted of her time and now she needs to go find a better lawyer to help her. Does anyone suggest what she should do? My opinion in this case that the boys who shot her should be in trouble or something, why does it seem to be a slap on the wrist and no justice for the girl that was shot.
