Resolved Question: Bit by a bug, what kind?

i was waiting at a bus stop near a beach in quincy MA, yesterday and was bttin a fw tiems on the lower part of my leg a few times. they were annoying and it kinda hurt. I killed a few and notice blood, i thought it was me, so i went back in the house i was ay and washed it off. killed 2 more on the wall and stains of blood got on the wal. They looked kinda like mosquitos. someone said they weere sand fleas, but i looked that up today and the sand fleas i seen online looked more like magots, and it also said they dont fly. so i dont think is was sand fleas since they were high up on the wall flying and they were dark black looked almost like a fruit fly maybe, not sure, but smalle. but all my bites that i noticed today are all around my ankle, the highest one half way between my ankle and knee. anyone know wht type of bug this is, cuz ive been camping plenty of times and never seen mosquitos bleed like this. no sh!t really BOB?? an technically if it was a sand fly than it wasnt an insect, there not insects...
